Facial Contouring For A More Defined Face Shape

I’m quite wary when it comes to any kind of dermatological treatment, especially if a machine is involved But when I heard about UltraFace Facial Contouring, I had to try it. It combines both ultrasound and radiofrequency to reduce the appearance of facial fat and bring out the contours of your face. The whole process takes about 45 minutes.

First, your face is cleaned before a thick layer of petroleum jelly is slathered on specific areas. The ultrasound then starts. It takes about eight minutes to do each side of your face. Eyes will be covered for protection but you’ll hear a faint whirring sound, and feel heat pressing down on your skin, which is tolerable.

Once you’re done with the first step, they clean off any residual petroleum jelly before applying baby oil. For 10-15 minutes, you’ll feel a constant and firm pressure from the handpiece that starts off cold but gets warmer and warmer, before cooling your skin towards the end. The entire process is repeated for a second cycle.

It’s recommended that you have at least eight treatments or more for optimum results, with a break of 10 days between sessions. After 1 session, I did notice the shape of my face more, the sharpness of its lines, and even my laugh lines seemed less apparent. Two days after the session, I was told by three of my friends, who didn’t know I had the treatment, that my face seemed thinner. I can only imagine what eight sessions could accomplish!

3 Important Vitamins To Keep Your Skin Healthy

The skin not only serves as barrier and as support for internal structures, but it is also the first thing that people see when they look at us. That is why a lot of women fret over their skin and how it should smooth and shiny. There are several products out there that are designed to help keep your skin healthy and good looking. However, if you want less cost and a more natural approach, taking in the right amount of vitamins that is good for the skin should suffice.

One which is commonly advertised in skin care products is vitamin E. It can be found in food items like mangoes, avocado, tomatoes, broccoli and even in asparagus. It acts as an anti oxidant which combats the effects of aging caused by free radicals. Vitamin A also works the same way. It also serves an anti oxidant for the skin in the form of retinol, which is naturally occurring in animal meat.

Another vitamin for the skin is Vitamin C or your ascorbic acid. It plays a major role in promoting a healthy immune system and also acts an anti oxidant. A poor immune system will not only cause skin problems, but other debilitating diseases as well. Apart from the vitamins, it is also important to keep your skin moist by taking sufficient amounts of water every day. It is recommended that adults take in at least 8-12 glasses of water each day.

Look Good and Feel Good With the Derma Roller System

Year in and year out, we are introduced to a variety of beauty products that promise the moon and the sky. There are those that claim to help you look young in less than a week, while others claim to reverse the signs of aging after just a couple of days. These products are the reason why I sometimes find it difficult to try out something new. This changed when I got to try the new Derma Roller System.

What is the Derma Roller?

The Derma Roller System is a small handheld device used to solve common skin care problems. It stimulates collagen and elastin, which are essential for the promotion of healthier skin cells in the body. Also called skin roller or microneedle roller, it uses small surgical needles in creating microscopic channels on the skin’s surface. This activates the body’s natural healing process, which is essential in regenerating and creating healthier skin cells.

What the Derma Roller System Can Do For You

The biggest reason why I was excited to try out the derma roller was what I found out about it. This small but extremely powerful handheld device has a lot of benefits:

  • It takes away old collagen fibers and produces new collagen and elastin.
  • It has good exfoliating capabilities, so it is effective for clearing pores.
  • It reduces wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, large pores, lines, and cellulite, among many others.
  • It also helps reduce hair loss and thinning.
  • It is not damaging to the skin.

With these in mind, I decided to finally take the plunge and dry the derma roller System.

What I Found Out (My Review)

The first thought I had before the procedure started was, “Will I have holes on my face?” It was a legitimate question because I focused on the word “needling”. There will be needles on my face. However, that was not the case. I mean, I did not have holes on my face after the procedure. The holes actually slowly closed up after a few hours.

And no, I felt no pain. Well, nothing that I could not handle. There was a prickling sensation at the start, but I gradually got used to it.

At the end of the session, I felt new. Or rather, my skin felt new. Sounds cliché, but there really is no other way to describe how it was. I did not expect a miracle overnight, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that after only several days of use, I could see some improvements. After about four weeks (five or six weeks for some), my skin looked younger and more radiant. I was told by friends that six months of continuous use will lessen the scars, wrinkles, and lines significantly. Of course, for best results, I used the 1.5 needles.

The only thing that was uncomfortable for me was the swelling that came right after the procedure. But it didn’t last that long and the result was worth it.
