Look Good and Feel Good With the Derma Roller System

Year in and year out, we are introduced to a variety of beauty products that promise the moon and the sky. There are those that claim to help you look young in less than a week, while others claim to reverse the signs of aging after just a couple of days. These products are the reason why I sometimes find it difficult to try out something new. This changed when I got to try the new Derma Roller System.

What is the Derma Roller?

The Derma Roller System is a small handheld device used to solve common skin care problems. It stimulates collagen and elastin, which are essential for the promotion of healthier skin cells in the body. Also called skin roller or microneedle roller, it uses small surgical needles in creating microscopic channels on the skin’s surface. This activates the body’s natural healing process, which is essential in regenerating and creating healthier skin cells.

What the Derma Roller System Can Do For You

The biggest reason why I was excited to try out the derma roller was what I found out about it. This small but extremely powerful handheld device has a lot of benefits:

  • It takes away old collagen fibers and produces new collagen and elastin.
  • It has good exfoliating capabilities, so it is effective for clearing pores.
  • It reduces wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, large pores, lines, and cellulite, among many others.
  • It also helps reduce hair loss and thinning.
  • It is not damaging to the skin.

With these in mind, I decided to finally take the plunge and dry the derma roller System.

What I Found Out (My Review)

The first thought I had before the procedure started was, “Will I have holes on my face?” It was a legitimate question because I focused on the word “needling”. There will be needles on my face. However, that was not the case. I mean, I did not have holes on my face after the procedure. The holes actually slowly closed up after a few hours.

And no, I felt no pain. Well, nothing that I could not handle. There was a prickling sensation at the start, but I gradually got used to it.

At the end of the session, I felt new. Or rather, my skin felt new. Sounds cliché, but there really is no other way to describe how it was. I did not expect a miracle overnight, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that after only several days of use, I could see some improvements. After about four weeks (five or six weeks for some), my skin looked younger and more radiant. I was told by friends that six months of continuous use will lessen the scars, wrinkles, and lines significantly. Of course, for best results, I used the 1.5 needles.

The only thing that was uncomfortable for me was the swelling that came right after the procedure. But it didn’t last that long and the result was worth it.

Skin Care You Can Find in Your Kitchen

You need not go any further than your friendly neighborhood kitchen, right in your own house, to find wholesome nourishing treatments sure to put the apples back in your cheeks. We’re not talking botox and facelifts, but your kitchen can still provide quite an effective resource outside of that. There are several foods that not only do a body good, but a face too, and most of us want to give good face. Make an appointment with your local Kitchen…

Oh, Honey…

Yes, it’s sticky, but it does some pretty amazing things. Honey helps your complexion retain moisture. Manuka honey is particularly beneficial due to its high antibacterial properties. Perhaps the best thing about using honey for the beautification of your skin is the fact that it can be applied straight from the jar, without mixing it with anything else. How’s that for convenience? This is good information even if you can’t find it in the journal of cosmetic dentistry.

Oats…Yes, That’s Right!

Oats have incredibly calming and soothing properties, that’s why they are found in many treatments for acne-prone and sensitive skin. Oats can be ground to a fine texture and combined with many masks for the additional skin-calming benefits that they promote. Your skin is in for a real treat when you combine oats with honey. The honey promotes moisture and is antibacterial, while the addition of the oats adds calming and soothing properties to the mask.

Coconuts anyone?

Coconut oil, like honey, is another kitchen item that can be used straight from the jar. Coconut oil has intensely moisturizing and healing properties and also happens to be antifungal. Massage this into your complexion for a luxurious wholesome deeply moisturizing treatment for your skin.

All of these incredibly wholesome foods read like ingredients in a dessert but are actually quite simple yet effective treatments for your skin. Honey has many benefits when used both externally and internally. Oats are nourishing nutritionally and soothing and calming when used topically. Last but not least, coconut oil is a super emollient moisturizer with many additional perks. It is both healing and antifungal. Spa treatments from your kitchen are also great because they are inexpensive, have no side effects (barring allergies), and don’t contain extraneous harmful chemicals.

The Best Remedy for a Super Active Mom

When you live the Super Active Mom lifestyle, you’ll need a way to relax once in awhile. In between taking kids to their scheduled activities, keeping up after the house, cooking meals, changing the baby, feeding the baby, putting the baby to sleep, and oh yeah, that little thing called your career, the life of a super active mom can feel hectic, stressful, and at the least, completely taxing. That is why it is important to rejuvenate once in awhile. In order to meet your responsibilities as full-time momma, you need to take care of numero uno once in awhile.

To better serve your family, make sure you take care of yourself first. There is nothing selfish about making sure you are properly taken care of. It’s important to maintain your optimal wellness by staying in good shape. Getting good sleep when you have a baby is almost out of the question, but do your best to get rest when you can. Take some naps, get your partner to give you a day out alone once in awhile for some peace of mind, even ask mother-in-law to babysit out of the house if you have to- whatever it takes to get some rest.

After you’ve ensured you’ve gotten some rest, make sure you stay in shape. Letting your exercise habit lapse is dangerous. Not only will your physical fitness decrease and you will be at greater risk for health problems later in life, but your confidence and self-esteem will drop as the pounds increase. Stay in shape through some easy walking, even forming a group of moms or other ladies who are looking for help staying motivated to stay active. Strap on your baby or push it in a stroller if you have to- but make sure to get out and move, getting some necessary Vitamin D, too.

Lastly, after you’ve ensured your fitness and rest are adequate, pamper yourself once in awhile. There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to a Day Spa in Chicago. When you can convince the MIL to take the kids (shouldn’t be too hard if she’s like most grandmas), get yourself in for a relaxing and rejuvenating treatment at the day spa. This will make you feel like a million bucks, both in the moment and later on. When you’re back home in the hectic everyday schedule of a Super Active Mom, you’ll look back on those hours at the day spa and dream about the next visit, recharging your batteries both while you’re at the spa but also when you’re away handling your business.
