Kitchen Island Storage Ideas

Having little space inside the house has become a fact of life for many individuals. This is due to two reasons, and that is small availability of physical space, and inability to organize properly. As the kitchen is one of the most used areas of the home, there is a high probability that it suffers from a cramp space, and this can pose a huge problem when it comes to preparation and cooking. Therefore, we came up with several ideas when it comes to storage, most specifically when using your kitchen island.

Things That You Can Store In the Kitchen Island:

  • Ingredients- You cannot cook without these so make sure that you have a stock of your favorite ingredients. If you feel that they are cramping the kitchen, and your cupboards and cabinets are filled to the brim leaving no space for the ingredients, store it inside the drawer of your kitchen island.
  • Utensils- Like the ingredients, utensils are a vital component of the kitchen, thus this should always be present. If you do not want to include them on your kitchen cabinets, or if there is simply no room left for the utensils, it is time to use the kitchen island.
  • Pots and Pans- You may be wondering how a large pot or pan can fit inside a small kitchen island drawer. The answer is simple, you do not have to put it inside, but hang it on the sides of the island, or even below it, if your island is styled like a table.
  • Cook Books- Chances are, you have a family recipe hidden somewhere, and instead of placing it on other rooms it should be located on the kitchen itself for easier access. Good thing the kitchen island can always be used for storage purposes so feel free to put your cook books inside the island drawer or cabinet.

You cannot do anything about the small space of your kitchen, but you can sure organize it properly to make everything accessible and presentable. The kitchen island can help you with this venture, so aside from using it as a medium for food preparation, feel free to utilize it as storage as well.
