The Peril of Asthma

If you see your child suffering from wheezes, shortness of breath, and chest constriction then he is probably having an asthma attack. Asthma is a chronic disease that affects the lungs and can be triggered by several factors like allergies, being exposed to smoke and pollution, and even certain physical activities like running or lifting heavy things. Children who have close family members that has asthma is more likely to develop this, being exposed to a polluted environment is also a huge factor for a child to acquire it.

This can lead to a child’s death if ignored by parents. Sadly there is no cure for asthma, but minimizing your child’s exposure to things that will affect him can help lessen its occurrence. Always bring an inhaler in case he has an attack and make sure that he has regular check-ups to ensure optimal health. Even if a child has asthma, he can still live an active life provided that he knows his body’s limits.
